I’ve recently come across Liz Strauss who tweeted today to write a blog post in 4 minutes or less.
I loved that notion, to challenge your normal routine and bust a gut to meet a tough deadline. She also put out a great tweet: What if everything you think is wrong with you is really a superpower?
What a fantastic thought. I think, in the case of female entrepreneurs, that totally resonates. We women give ourselves a hard time about not being able to juggle enough things at one time, despite the fact that on the whole we can do way more than our fellow friends – men.
We really can. So why do we berate ourselves about it? We’re amazing. We know it so celebrate it. When you care too much, when you’re too compassionate, when you can’t make a decision straight off on a difficult matter – congratulate yourself as these are strengths.
It means you’re weighing the odds, you’re considering both sides of the story and that makes for a highly effective leader. Yes there are times when you just need to make a call and trust your gut instinct, but whaddya know, we do that incredibly well too.
Listen and engage your super powers – your strengths and let them shine. Quit focusing on what you’re not doing, on what you’re don’t think you’re capable of and start leaping off tall buildings in a single bound. The cape is there waiting for you, so are the stylish leggings and fancy outfit, go out in the world and be Superwoman.
Phew: Total writing time 5 minutes. I even had this image on my home page!

Hi Natalie,
I just found this. I’m kind of glad my arrival was delayed. This is the best Monday morning post!
You follow your advice and show, not tell, us how. I think you used your superpowers that day! It’s fabulous how you connected a challenge with a motivational thought to make this happen.
Thank you.
What a cool thought, “what if everything that you think is wrong with you is actually your super power”! Could what you perceive your weaknesses to be really be strengths? Reminds me of the movie Signs… remember the little girl with the water phobia and the boy with asthma?
I think you may be on to something there!
I haven’t actually seen that movie but I do think we should reverse our opinions of what we think of as things that hold us back and instead wonder `what if’ and make them our super powers. Grateful that you came here via a Twitter connection and took the time to comment Andrew!
I love your video review on “crush it” I will pick up the book tonight and take it for a spin.
I just finished the “four agreements” and one of the four is Do Your Best! I like that. Very simple, but challenging. Life can be a struggle for so many of us, men and women! We can only reach the top if we acknowledge we’re in this struggle together!
Ooooh – I love this concept! Great article and a nice, easy, SPEEDY read! Thanks for the motivation.
