10 Ways To Start Your Business Year with a Bang
I always love a new year as it signifies a fresh start, a change in habits and a time for new stretch goals. It also means a time for reflection on all that I’ve learned in the previous year, what I want to take through into 2010 and what I need to leave behind. If you haven’t already, I suggest you take time out for yourself to write down what you want your 2010 to look like. As the experts say, if you don’t know where you’re going how will you know how to get there. The same is true for what you envisage for yourself, if you don’t have a clear mental picture of how you’d like your life to look next year, then how will... [read more]

The Silky Way to Make the World a Better Place
Laura and Kim Appleton are a force to be reckoned with and two of the most passionate and engaging entrepreneurs I’ve met recently. Together they are on quest to change how the world sleeps – one duvet at a time. In the space of an hour they enlightened me on the entire silk making process, how to source it ethically and why everyone should have one of their amazing Silk Concept duvets. It was clear that Laura could have talked about this for hours and Kim could convince anyone that, once you owned one of their duvets, you would never be able to sleep under anything else. Laura grew up in the UK with entrepreneurial parents and... [read more]

2009 Was The Year To Shine #best09
Each year I actually name my year and what it’s going to mean to me. 2008 was the year to activate. 2009 was the year to shine. 2010 is the year of Zen. I’m not quite decided on 2010 motto. To me it means the year is going to align in ways I never thought possible. I think if I use my best Kiwi accent then '2010 the year to Win' is even better. I’m not alone in my thinking. All the people I’ve touched base with in the last few weeks seem to have an unbound optimism for the coming year. I’m excited that it’s being talked up because this hasn’t exactly been the easiest year for anyone.... [read more]
